Global Upper Room Prayer Force

In preparation for the Global Upper Room the end of the year November 7 - 9, 2018 we ask pastors and believers to help us ignite a fire of prayer in your local church.  We also ask you kindly to try and get as many of your intercessors into Atlanta.  Some churches plan to bring their entire staff.  You will soon receive a complete timeline of the conference including meetings, speakers, prophetic presbytery team, and highlighted times for prayer in this conference.

Below is a prayer model with scripture references, what to pray for, and how to sharpen our sword of prayer towards the November 7 - 9 upcoming conference.  If you are subscribed to our mailing list, we will send this to you monthly, and ask you to share this with others in order to bring momentum in all our churches.  Let us bring all those that sense the urgency of time together as we will take hands with Global leaders to ignite a fire that can go rampant into many nations.  We will update you as we move forward with our planning. Apart from the prayer model teaching are two comments of leaders you will find in the Upper Room the end of this year.

Prayer is to the Christian what Air is to a Person.  The misconception is that prayer begins with Speaking to God, but in all Honesty, Prayer is First Hearing and then Agreeing with what God is saying.  Jesus said, "I do what I see the Father doing, and I say what I hear the Father saying."  When we take the position to hear first, we catch the Spirit of Prayer or the Heart of the Father for our lives, our cities, our churches and yes even the Globe.  So, I like to say it this way:  "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Holy Spirit is saying and then Pray from that vantage point."

Prayer is an essential to New Testament living. Prayerlessness is a sign that we are leaning on the arm of the flesh. It is the expectation of the Father toward his sons and daughters. Jesus said "when you pray" (Matthew 6:5-7).

Extraordinary things happen when we pray. Peter and John went to the Temple at the hour of prayer and experienced a magnificent miracle and move of God, when a lame beggar was healed. (Acts 3) The fervent, righteous prayer to God, still possesses great force! (James 5:16) Let us pray!

Many have experienced the delivering power of God's presence during great seasons of prayer. Paul tells Timothy how the LORD stood by him as he "was snatched from the jaws of the lion!" ~ 2 Tim 4:17

Paul lists five benefits from a consistent prayer choice:
1. The LORD stood by me.
2. The LORD strengthened me.
3. The LORD shut the lion's mouth.
4. The LORD delivers me from evil.
5. The LORD secures my future.

The image of a lion in ancient literature is one of supreme strength, appropriately applied here to Nero's court.
The lion is a symbol of Satan (1 Peter 5:8). Perhaps Paul was referring to some scheme of the devil to defeat him and hinder the work of the Gospel. To be "saved from the lion's mouth" was a proverbial saying which meant "to be delivered from great danger" (Ps 22:21). May we seek the LORD's presence to stand by us and deliver us from the lion's jaws!

As we approach the Upper Room gathering in Atlanta for 2018, we must recognize the power of prayer. First in our personal time, alone with God, and then corporately in group settings with like-minded pastors and leaders. There is power in agreement and great encouragement when likeminded leaders are in one accord for revival. We are desperate for a move of the Holy Spirit in our churches, our family, and community. In Joel 2:12-17, there is a call for repentance and then in Joel 2:28-32, there is a promise for the Holy Spirit to be poured out upon all flesh. I encourage you to read once again this great chapter in Joel 2. Do not quote it only, however, read it with a new perspective for 2018 to be a year that Joel 2 is poured out upon our church our family and our community. Pray for the miracles of God to be outpoured in your community, your region, and the world. May we be in agreement as we communicate with each other through our connection with Brother Andre and Good News for the Nations that this will not just be a conversation, but we will begin to act upon the promise that God has prophesied to us in the book of Joel. E. M. Bounds stated in his book on Spiritual Warfare, that "Prayer is to be approached with sincerity, humility, acknowledging the promises of God's word." As we prepare our hearts for the Upper Room in Atlanta in November, may we begin with an expectancy that begins to work in our lives today. Blessings to all of you.

Urgent International Prayers
  1. Korean Nuclear Weapons - Kim Jun Um has promised to dismantle NK's nuclear weapons and research, and to demilitarize the Korean peninsula.  If this is a false promise, the situation could deteriorate.  If it is true, then a potential new era of peace could arise. Let us pray for immediate and full disarmament.
  2. Trump - Whether one agrees with Trump's policies or style, he is the most influential political leader in the world today.  We need to pray for God to guide and direct his thoughts, speech, decisions and partnerships.  What Trump decides leads to a domino effect upon other nations.
  3. Media - The potential peace in Korea and subsequent changes in other nations are also influenced not only by the facts but how they are reported in the news and social media.  Let us pray for righteous reporting and for a positive change in public opinion; in Asia, the West and the Middle East.
  4. Jerusalem Embassy - Within days the United States is planning to dedicate its new embassy in Jerusalem.  Several other nations have already announced that they will do so also.  This begins a new stage in the controversy over Jerusalem as prophesied in Zechariah 12:2-3, and thus moves us all into more end times' events
  5. 70 Year Alignment - In 1948-9 following World War II there was a realignment of national borders from West to East.  That alignment of nations has stayed in effect all these years.  We are seeing the beginning of a new alignment after this 70 year period.  Even the Arab nations, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia are reconsidering their relationship with Israel.

The Necessity of Prayer
God did not give away ownership of the earth, but He did assign the responsibility of governing it to humanity (Psalm 115 verse 16). God chose, from the time of the Creation, to work on the earth through humans, not independent of them. Scripture clearly tells us that He limited Himself, concerning the affairs of the earth, to working through human beings.

Adam means Human. Adam therefore represents humanity. What God intended for Adam, He intended for the entire human race. In Genesis 1 verses 26 through 28, God gave Adam and Eve and their descendants dominion over the entire earth and all creation. In other words, God assigned governing the earth to humanity. Part of governing the earth was the assignment of keeping it. In Genesis 2 verse 15, Adam was to “keep” the Garden of Eden. The word “keep” means to guard or protect. It is the primary word used for a Watchman in the Scriptures. So Adam was God’s Watchman or guardian on the earth.

Being a Watchman has everything to do with PRAYER…

What we lost as descendants of Adam was restored in the Second and last Adam, Jesus Christ.

As Governors, in Christ, God is asking us to pray for His Kingdom to come and His will be done on Earth just as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6 verse 10), to pray for our daily bread (Matthew 6 verse 11), to pray that laborers be sent into the harvest (Matthew 9 verse 38), to pray that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified (2 Thessalonians 3 verse 1), etc…

Andrew Murray said that “God’s giving is inseparably connected with our asking. Only by prayer can power be brought down from Heaven which will enable the Church to conquer the world.”

Prayer is therefore a necessity! Prayer is part of our assignment. Prayer brings revival. Prayer brings healing. We can change Nations through prayer. Strongholds can come down when and because we pray.

Ezekiel 22 verse 31 says “…I sought for a MAN among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it...”

Let’s be that MAN during our gathering at the Upper Room Conference…
