In Genesis 28:10-27, we read about Jacob who had a dream of angels walking up and down a ladder between heaven and earth.  He had a stone for a pillow. What a dream to have!  In Genesis 32, we find Jacob again wrestling with God.  Once he wrestled with God, his name changed from Jacob to Israel.  The key word is to "connect" with God.  The Bible is not a book of just stories; it’s a book of truth that will lead us to connect with God literally.  To make a phone call and never connect leads to frustration.  God is not a far-away God who leaves us in disarray to struggle and fight our own fights.  He is a God who loves to connect with humanity.  Make sure you connect with Him, for unless you feel the flood of His love flow through you, you still live in “hope so,” “maybe,” or “could it be” instead of divine confidence in His promises and character.  It is time to "connect" so that when all is said and done, you will call your place of connecting the gate to heaven, such as Jacob said when he had the dream of the ladder.  Let God change your rough spot, that uncomfortable “stone pillow” in your life, into a place that you will rename the "Gate to Heaven." Any place—no matter how bad it may be—can become the gate to a heaven-ladder experience if only you can "connect” with our living God!
