TAKE BACK THE CITY - 2010 CAPE TOWN CRUSADE

Abraham was going, not knowing where, in order to leave an inheritance for generations to come. Pioneering and the planting of churches is about invading unfamiliar territory and expanding to places untouched. We're convinced God can do anything He wants with anyone He chooses. As a church planting tribe, we urge all who choose to leave a legacy for generations to come. We don't subscribe to step out in faith with us. We do not follow one specific method, but we do have a strategy that works and makes Jesus a reality to millions.

The best way of leaving a legacy is by duplicating yourself and plant churches. These tent churches will become launching pads from where the generations that will follow in our footsteps can excel and enlarge their territory till they take back the globe. To see a harvest-wave of souls accepting Jesus as their Savior is great but the importance is to maintain the catch of people. Planting of tents for emerging churches is the only way to keep the catch. Join us as we are already in progress of making a dent into darkness, spreading His light.

VISION

Plant 50 new churches before December 2010

TARGET GROUP

We will resource and equip church leaders to plant 50 new churches in the next 22 months with the focus on the Cape Flats, Khayalitsha, Atlantes. These areas are well known for their gangs, drug abuse and crime activities because of the high unemployment figure and extreme Muslim elements.

PLAN OF ACTION

  • To mobilize the current church leaders to duplicate there churches through church planting in the next two years.
  • We will train 100 new Church Planters in the next 2 years. They will attend four one-day seminars and enroll in our one year Certificate in Leadership and Church Planting Course.
  • We will select the best 50 students for this project. We will train 250 house evangelists to take the gospel into every home, and leave a Bible (John Gospel) and a gospel tract with every family.
  • Implement 50 new tents during 2009/2010. We will host conferences during 2009/2010 to stimulate, evaluate and fuel the process and to grow our relationships with our leaders.
  • We will host a mass “Take over the City” event in 2010 before the World Cup Soccer commences to celebrate the harvest and declare in mass that the City belongs to Jesus Christ.

CHURCH PLANTING PROCESS

  1. Select the Soil
  2. Plough the ground
  3. Plant the seed
  4. Fertilise the Soil

  • DNA of a Church – Be fruitful and multiply (Matt 28:19)
  • Mother Churches - Jerusalem & Antioch send Paul & Barnabas. John Haley says, “For Paul, faithfulness to the Great Commission meant more than preaching evangelistic messages here and there. It meant completing a sequence of activities that would result in mature churches. We could say without overstating the case that, for Paul, to “make disciples of all nations” required planting churches.”
  • The kingdom of God grows through church multiplication. Peter Wagner says, “The single most effective evangelistic methodology under heaven is planting new churches.”

ACTIVITY 2: Identify Church Planter and Area where you want to plant the church

  • Look for fertile soil
  • Research: The process of gathering information, which allows us to asses and measure the task and to establish goals, plans and priorities for planting the new church.
