Where is South Africa ?

South Africa is the very southern nation of the continent of Africa.

Why a rainbow nation?

The name rainbow nation reflects the combination of its people.  It has a population of 46 million.  There are eleven official languages, including English, Afrikaans (a language similar to Dutch,) and 9 tribal languages.  The city Durban, on the East has the largest concentration of Indians in the world, outside of India.

Safaris - The Bushveld

South Africa is internationally known amongst tourists and has become a hunting & safari Mecca.

The other side of the coin

The old saying, “a coin has two sides,” is very true in the case of South Africa. Above we shared the beauty of South Africa.  Now we will share with you the other side of such a beautiful nation.  Only God can give this nation a “ FACELIFT” SO DESPERATELY NEEDED.

AIDS

South Africa is now the nation with the highest rate of aids in the world.  Needless to say, millions are dying.  At one time, 6.5 million were expected to die within a matter of six years.  Clinics are going up in support for these people.  They are doomed and feel cursed.  They are the forgotten ones.  Dying is desperateness.  Jesus, 2000 years ago, could have turned His back on a dying world, but came in spite of our mess.  Let us do what He would have done and go in spite of the circumstances.  GNN, through Judea Harvest and a ministry called Revive Africa is already addressing this issue.

Statistics on the AIDS virus are a follow:

  •  HIV prevalence in 15 - 49 year olds rose from less than 1% - 20%
  •  5.3 Million South Africans are HIV positive
  •  2.95 Million Women between ages 15 and 49 have aids
  •  2.3 Million Men in the same age group are infected with HIV
  •  87% of all nurses in South African hospitals have aids
  •  It is estimated that a child is orphaned by AIDS  every 14 seconds

Good News to the Nations is now embracing ministries positioned to make a significant difference.

Goals

Our goal is to improve the healthcare in the community, as well to empower the community into taking positive action to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS. We are striving to provide healthcare and a support system for affected members of the communities and information on the correct nutrition regiment.

  • To provide prevention/outreach programs.
  • To provide a health care for the chronic, frail, and rejected.
  • To conduct home based services.
  • To identify and assist with the placement of orphans to foster families.
  • To assist in establishing and train community support groups, for both infected and affected, who are trained on income generating activities.

House Thandi  ^ Enlarge
House Thandi

This is a house for abandoned kids on the East side of Johannesburg, in a city called Benoni.  Good News to the Nations has supported this ministry for many years, and would love to do more.  This house has been approved by the South African government and is under the care of great leadership.  When you give to GNN, you automatically give towards this ministry

Feeding the Poor

Millions of the South African population are still in great need and live in what is better known as squatter camps. These camps are very basic.  Many of these houses consist of the bare minimum.  These are places where you could easily find 15,000 people living with one water tap.  Many of these people are infected with the aids virus. From time to time, GNN feed people in these camps and are now making another effort to do more.  Providing clothing and food in poverty stricken areas is as much a part of the Gospel as preaching the Gospel.

Church Planting  ^ Enlarge
Planting Churches

This has become an absolute.  GNN and Kingdom Alliance will now take the hands of a powerful ministry called Judea Harvest, which the Lord has raised up in South Africa.  Hansie Henning, the President of Judea Harvest, has already planted 1300 tent churches in South Africa and beyond. This happened within six years.  Judea Harvest will now become the extended hand through which GNN & Kingdom Alliance will help in planting churches.  Hansie Henning, a seasoned friend of Andre & Naomi, will also serve on the international board of directors of Kingdom Alliance, an Apostolic network of International leaders directed by Pastor Andre van Zyl.

American Satellite churches

American churches are now beginning to plant churches through GNN and Kingdom Alliance, in the sub Sahara, which consist of approximately 17 nations.  Satellite churches in South Africa and the sub Sahara will be linked to satellite churches in America.  A satellite church is an overseeing church under who any church plant will sort.  This will be done through the USA offices of GNN and Kingdom Alliance, with the International coordinator of GNN & KA working with churches in South Africa and the sub Sahara.

2000 Churches to be planted in the Sub Sahara

Approximately 2000 places have been identified for church plantings.  Many of these places have already a church plant in the making, but their greatest need is the provision of a tent.  Pray that The Lord will help us to make a significant difference in the lives of these people.
